Memorial Day Weekend

So far, I am thoroughly enjoying my long weekend. I am beginning my 3rd day off today. This weekend, Dan has let me sleep in everyday since I was up with Helena everyday last weekend. It has been great!

Friday, I woke up at 11:00 and Dan made me pancakes and fried apples. I spent most of the day just relaxing. We watched the Suns game, of course, and were disappointed with the result.

Saturday, I woke up at 10:00. (I have really been milking the sleeping in thing.) After I got up though, Dan was tired so he went back to sleep. I watched cartoons with Helena and we played her new favorite the "chase-and-kiss" game. I have never heard her laugh so hard!! :) After Dan got up we both took turns getting ready and went out. We had an early-bird dinner at Cracker Barrel. Yeah, we ate at about 4:30. Further cementing the fact that I am the oldest 24 year old in the world.

We only ate at that time so that we could take Helena to the 6:00 showing of Over the Hedge. It was so funny! She just loved it. She started wimpering a bit in the beginning when she saw the mean old bear, but after that she was fine and was laughing and clapping and having a great time! The best part was at the end when she started waving and saying "Bye!" and blowing kisses.

We came home last night to a kids basketball hoop from Dan's dad. Helena has been getting so excited with us when we watch the games, so it will be perfect for her to play with. We put it together and I think Dan & I were enjoying it even more than Helena. Hey, I can finally slam dunk!

It's too hot to do a lot of running around today (a high of 93 expected), but we may go out to watch the game tonight. We're bringing it back to Phoenix and I hope the Suns take both games. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!
