Chalk Up Another First

Helena had her first camping trip last weekend. While camping out here is not quite what we are used to (i.e. amongst the foliage, grass, and water) it was still a fun night. We all went to Lake Pleasant and set up the tent for the night. We cooked hot dogs and made S'mores. The weather was perfect. Helena was having a great time until 11:00 PM rolled around and I took her in the tent to go to sleep. She did not want the party to end, but was too tired to keep going. Instead she just cried... for a long time. I finally was going to put her in her car seat and drive her around a little bit to get her to doze off. As soon as I got her in that seat, she was out! The little sleep I did get was in the driver's seat. While that wasn't quite comfortable, the overall trip was fun and something we will do again (just maybe not TOO soon). :)

Helena also got her first invitation to a friend's birthday party. We went to the first birthday of Myles (our neighbor). It was an outdoor party, the weather was just AWESOME again. We played in the grass, threw the ball around, blew some bubbles, ate cake. It was a great weekend. It has been a while since we've really done anything. The only day Dan and I have off together is Sunday and by then we are usually both so exhausted that we just want to hang out. I had been going a little stir-crazy in the house though, so it was nice to get out.
