Don't Hate Me

For being away so long. Life catches up with you sometimes and you just lose track of things. Here are some updates:

Helena & I took a trip home to Ohio in February. It was great! We got to go sled riding, spend time with family, I went dress shopping for my little sister's wedding. The trip was unplanned and a total surprise for half of my family. I love surprises!

I came back to some shaky territory in almost every aspect of my life (work, relationships, etc.) I overcame everything though, and am working on rebuilding my mental state a bit! haha

Anyway, here we are present day and can you believe in only a week my little girl is gonna be the big DEUCE!?!?!?! I even taught her how to hold up 2 fingers and say "two" or "deuce". It's so cute! She knows her birthday is coming up. We talk about it everyday. She is very excited for cake, ice cream, and presents!

I will be sure to post about the day. We are having her party the weekend after her birthday on April 7. Since I just got news from my mom last weekend that she is flying my two little bros out for Spring Break. AWESOME NEWS!!!

We'll get to that next week though. For now, let's move on to new things Helena knows...

She has almost all of her letters, numbers, and colors down.
The girl can even point out a Honda symbol on a car and say "H for Helena".
She slept in my bed Saturday night and I woke up to her saying "Hi Mommy" with a big smile. Then, she pointed at my eyes and said "Mommy geen eyes" and pointed at her own eyes and said "Heyena bwoo eyes".
She knows she came from Mommy's belly because we look at my maternity pictures and I explain it to her.
She yells for a book from her closet every night. And she gets to pick which one we read.
She chooses what she wants for breakfast, lunch, and a snack. (I choose dinner!)
Every night she asks for "milk, book, and mommy's bed". We lay down and read and watch a bit of TV and then I take her to bed.
She goes to bed really good anymore. I tell her to say "ni-nite" and give me a kiss. She ALWAYS has to have her "piwow, bank" (pillow, blanket).
She plays with Bula and Oscar like they are her brothers. She tries to climb all over Bula which he doesn't like very much. And she yells at Oscar when he climbs the fence outside, and it sounds like she's yelling "taco". haha
She repeats EVERYTHING her Uncle Matt says. She loves him so much everything is Uncle Matt. The first thing she always says when I get her up in the morning is "unca matt work?" I even became "Uncle Mommy" for a little while.
Last night I heard on her monitor after I put her to bed "ni-nite mommy, ni-nite matt, ni-nite daddy, ni-nite nanni, ni-nite gamma..." then it faded off into "dooo doo do dooo do dooo doo" It sounded like she was singing herself to sleep.

I fell asleep with the pleasing thought of music flowing through her veins! :)

I am glad that you are doing good and having so much fun with your little girl. She is so adorable. I am glad that I got to spend some time with her at Angie's shower in February. She is so smart and getting so big. I am glad that you got to meet Sophia. Take care. Talk to you soon, your cousin, Liz
