Rally Round the Lake

Tempe Town Lake, that is. Last night Dan and I had the opportunity to attend the post-Kerry rally. We watched the 90 minute debate by way of large screens and a vast speaker system that echoed throughout the park. After the debate, we got a free show from the Foo Fighters (only about 45 minutes, but hey it was free). After the Foo Fighters set, they introduced Kerry and the crowd just erupted. It was so nice to see all of the people gathered together in support of him. Over 20,000 people in that one place. (That's not even counting all of the people outside the park who didn't have tickets)

Afterwards, Mill Avenue was crazy! People with signs, screaming and chanting "Kerry, Kerry, Kerry..." Of course, it was pretty much preaching to the choir since everyone in Tempe that night was in support of Kerry. All of the Bushies were tucked away in Bank One Ballpark. It was really nice to be able to be a part of something like that. To live in a place where something like that even happens. We had a great time.

My favorite part of the night was the 4-year-old little boy walking down the street shouting, "NO BUSH, JUST KERRY!!!" He really got the crowd going!
