Welcome to Week #15!

Officially now, the end of my first trimester (hence, the weekend celebration in San Diego)! Here is what we can expect this week:

The baby now measures about 4 1/2 inches head to toe. The bones are getting harder each day. The baby's skin is very thin and transparent; you can see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo, a very fine hair, covers the body and will continue growing on the baby until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy. From this point on, the baby mainly focuses on growing in size and strengthening the systems already functioning within the body.

This is also the beginning of the fourth month. Dan and I were talking about it last night, and realized that right now the thought of a baby isn't so scary because the time we have until the baby comes still outnumbers the months that I've been pregnant. After my fifth month, though, that won't be the case and it will be 5 months down; 4 to go! Kinda scary!!!
